Intensive Home Based Treatment (IHBT)
Intensive Home-Based Treatment (IHBT) at Cadence Care Network provides comprehensive, strengths-based support for children ages 7–12 and their families across our service areas. Delivered in the home, school, and community, IHBT aims to stabilize families, strengthen relationships, and build resilience. A dedicated team, therapist and case manager, offers counseling, case management, and psychiatric care tailored to each family’s unique needs, addressing mental health, substance use, school, family, peer, and community challenges.
Children who are severely emotionally disturbed (SED) are welcomed in an integrated treatment approach with a focus that provides the necessary services and supports that enable the client to live and function successfully in the least restrictive most normative environment. The service is time limited with intensive delivery at a minimum of three hours per week. Crisis response is provided 24/7. Utilizing a risk and protective factor framework, treatment includes active safety planning and monitoring to reduce risk.

Services build upon the youth’s and family’s strengths, resources, and informal supports.
Cross System Collaboration
Occurs with other child serving agencies such as school, court developmental disabilities, job and family services, care management entities, and other health care providers.

Cadence Care Network’s Intensive Home-Based Treatment program (IHBT) works with youth ages 7 to 12, who have been diagnosed with severe emotional problems and are not functioning well in many areas of their lives. These can include:

Emotional challenges causing conflict at home or with peers.
School Issues
Truancy, suspensions, or expulsion risk.
Severe Depression/Anxiety
Intense symptoms affecting daily life.
Mental Health Crisis History
Past suicide gestures, hospitalizations, or intensive services.
Juvenile Court Involvement
Current engagement with the justice system.
Substance Abuse
Drug or alcohol use impacting life and relationships.
Out-of-Home Placement Risk
Behaviors putting the youth at risk of removal from home.

Families meet with one of our licensed therapists for an initial evaluation of behavioral health concerns. Assessments typically last 60 to 90 minutes.
